Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)Courtyard Rehab & Health is seeking a dedicated, organized, and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in overseeing the daily operations of the nursing department. The ADON will help ensure the delivery of high-quality resident care, maintain regulatory compliance, supervise nursing staff, and promote a positive, team-oriented work environment.While the primary schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, this leadership position requires flexibility. The ADON must be willing to assist with staffing needs outside of regular business hours and step into clinical or supervisory roles as needed to ensure quality resident care and adequate staffing.Essential ResponsibilitiesAssist the Director of Nursing with the daily management of the nursing department.Monitor residents' weekly and monthly weight trends, ensuring timely follow-up on significant changes.Attend and actively participate in resident care plan meetings.Review and maintain the accuracy of resident Kardex, updating information as needed.Develop, supervise, and manage the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) schedule, including adjusting staffing to meet resident care needs.Be available to communicate with the Medical Director and participate in resident rounds.Supervise nursing staff throughout the facility, ensuring team members remain productive, accountable, and provide quality resident care.Conduct routine rounds on resident hallways to observe care, address concerns, and provide staff support.Review the narcotic book weekly to ensure documentation accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and maintain regulatory compliance.Assist with staff education, coaching, and performance improvement.Monitor compliance with infection control, safety procedures, and nursing policies.Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) activities.Assist with surveys, audits, and implementation of corrective action plans.Collaborate with interdisciplinary departments to promote excellent resident outcomes.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Administrator.QualificationsCurrent Registered Nurse (RN) license (preferred) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN), in accordance with state regulations.Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred.Knowledge of CMS regulations, state survey requirements, and long-term care operations.Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work independently.Proficient with electronic medical records and nursing documentation.ScheduleFull-TimeMonday–Friday8:00 AM – 5:00 PMMust be flexible and available to assist with staffing needs, including covering shifts or supervisory responsibilities outside regular business hours when necessary.What We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who leads by example, supports the nursing team, maintains high clinical standards, and is committed to providing exceptional care to every resident.
