Must also be willing and able to learn to operate other equipment in the machine shop. gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the jobRepairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, punching and welding techniques and equipmentMonitors the welding and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion or shrinkagePrepares, assembles and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be weldedMaintains, organizes and cleans equipment and the work areaNotifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discoveredPerforms other related duties as assignedWhat you bring to the table (qualifications):Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance and repairBasic understanding of design techniques, principles and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, modules and blueprintsExcellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of formsBasic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignmentsCompletion of a formal apprenticeship OR successful completion of an in-company, 3 year training program required.High school diploma or GED.Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat or overheadMust have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision workMust be able to see details at close rangeMust be able to lift up to 65 lbs at timesMust be able to travers facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping and carrying materialsMust be able to stand 8-10 hours per shift if neededMust be able to work overtime as neededWhy should you come work with us?
