Provides leadership and direction to unit staff.

Provides 24/7 operational oversight to assigned unit(s), ensuring all practices and programs are aligned with the overall strategic plan of the organization and follow best-practice standards.

Provides direct nursing care according to professional standards and facility policy

Attends meetings and participates in committee and task force initiatives as appropriate to area of expertise.

Ensures legal and regulatory compliance throughout Department.

Ensures unit is operated with a high degree of fiscal responsibility.

Maintains and develops work-related knowledge and skills through continuous learning activities, attendance at in services and workshops, etc.

Completes special projects/tasks in support of effective department functioning as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

Experience

2-5 years supervisory/management experience

2 years acute care experience required

2 years experience in long-term care preferred

Education

Current NYS Nursing License and Certification

BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required

Gerontology Certification is preferred
