Maintenance Technician IIISafety is a condition of employment. All managers, supervisors and workers must perform all of their duties in compliance with Hickman's Family Farm's Company Safety Rules and using all chemicals as directed by the Safety Data Sheet.Job Summary:The Maintenance Technician III is responsible for performing advanced mechanical maintenance and repairs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role ensures production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime through expert troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement efforts.Duties/Responsibilities:Perform advanced mechanical diagnostics and repairs on manufacturing equipment, including:Extrusion and converting machineryRollers, motors, pumps, gearboxes, and conveyorsPneumatic and hydraulic systemsCutting, winding, laminating, or packaging systemsRespond quickly to unplanned equipment downtime and production-critical breakdownsTroubleshoot equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actionsPerform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and longevityAccurately complete maintenance work orders and document repairs, labor, and parts usage in CMMS systemsAssist with equipment installations, upgrades, and rebuilds as neededSupport scheduled maintenance activities, shutdowns, and line changeoversFollow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environmentCollaborate with production teams to minimize disruptions and improve equipment performanceRequired Skills/Abilities:Knowledge of extrusion, converting, film/plastics, or packaging equipmentWelding and fabrication experienceUnderstanding of PLC-related troubleshooting (mechanical support)Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or reliability programsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and customer service skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailEffective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlinesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environmentProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareQualificationsEducation/Experience:High school diploma or GED required (technical degree preferred)5–10 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experienceStrong understanding of mechanical systems in a production environmentExperience working with CMMS platforms and maintenance trackingStrong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skillsAbility to prioritize production-critical work under pressureEffective communication with production and engineering teamsCommitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvementWork EnvironmentIndustrial manufacturing facilityMay involve exposure to heat, machinery, noise, and shift-based coverageOvertime and on-call support may be required during emergencies or shutdownsPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, and lift for extended periods.Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and machinery.Ability to frequently lift and move items up to 50 pounds.Benefits and PerksMatching 401kHealth, Dental & Vision InsurancePaid Time OffPaid Sick LeavePaid BirthdayPaid HolidaysHickman's Family Farms and its brands are an Equal Opportunity Employer of all qualified individuals, including minorities, women, veterans and individuals with disabilities.
