Operate conventional machine shop equipment while building, repairing, and preparing injection mold tooling.
Operates and maintains all conventional machine shop equipment (lathe, milling machine, drill press, etc.)
Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping
Completing checklists for apprentices and Mold Polishers
Sharpening cutters, drills, sprue cutters
Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs
Trouble shoot injection mold problems and tooling issues (example: part flashing)
Responding to and providing solutions for tooling issues causing production downtime
Making new cutters from raw material
Performing all other duties as assigned by supervision or management.
Certificate of completion from an accredited machine shop or tool and die vocational school preferred.
Excellent coordination and mechanical skills
Basic computer skills
Knowledge of metal properties and other material

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent and Trade School certification preferred. Minimum of 2 years machine shop experience in a machine shop.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend sufficient English to follow work instructions and engineering drawings. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be able to meet requirements for a forklift license.

Exposure to noise, grease, coolants, metal and aluminum shavings, grinder dust, oil/dust, and motorized industrial vehicles.
