Job SummaryThe Professional Service Engineer - Production & Automation Software is responsible for the deployment of software solutions to Oil and Gas customers.Roles & ResponsibilitiesTechnical Duties:· Install, Upgrade, and configure SCADA and Production Optimization Systems.· Build Screens, Workflows, and Reports to support customer operations and SCADA hardware.· Perform root-cause analysis of problems reported by debugging program/scripts, and if necessary, correct them or report them to Development.· Gain a firm understanding of Weatherford's SCADA and Production Optimization Products and how it works from the user perspective.· Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.· Help field support/clients with upgrading and configuring software.· Interact with customers to understand and troubleshoot product issues.· Support for third party application rollout based on business needsSafety, Compliance & Quality:· Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford· Maintains the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring that all activities are carried out ethically and in compliance with Company's Security, Compliance & HSE policies, Management System, relevant laws, regulations, standards, and industry practices and complies with the Company's Rules to Live By· Places Quality, Health & Safety, Security and protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers or the communities in which we live and work at risk· Seeks continual improvement in Health, Safety, Security & protection of the Environment, taking into account responsible care, process vulnerabilities, public, customer and employee inputs, knowledge and technology and best business practices to exceed customer expectations· Supervisors & Managers should demonstrate effective safety leadership for the health and safety arrangements of all subordinates and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises· Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherford's Management System· Maintains service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvementCommunication & Stakeholder Management:· Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external· Supervisors & Managers should clearly communicate expectations, roles and responsibilities to their reportsFinancial Accountability:· All employees have an accountability to the organization to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses· Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedureCareer Development & Leadership:· Employees have a responsibility for developing their own careers within the Company including completing all necessary function, compliance & business standards training to enhance their knowledge, skills and experience· Employees should engage on a regular basis with their line manager to discuss their personal performance, objectives and opportunities to enhance their skills and experience to support their career potential· Supervisors are expected to actively engaging their employees to support talent management through Weatherford's performance management process, including but not limited to talent assessments, succession planning & regular coaching opportunities· Supervisors should collaborate with Human Resources & Training Development to drive strategies for the recruitment & retention of key personal & to foster an environment that supports the attraction & retention of a high performing talented workforce· Demonstrates leadership, ethical behavior and adherence to Weatherford standards at all timesEducation & General Experience:· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering, with 2-5+ years of experience.· Experience in similar role troubleshooting and diagnosing problems with hardware and software.· Experience in Oil and Gas Industry - Production, Artificial Lift.· Domestic and foreign travel may be required.Software & Programming:· Experience in deploying and debugging Enterprise software in Microsoft Environment· Excellent debugging /knowledge of: C#, SQL, Powershell· SQL Server Management Experience.· Experience in integrating applications.· Knowledge of Windows programming environment.· Knowledge of Web Security, Authentication and Authorization.· Windows OS administration and support.· Microsoft Server OS knowledge· Working knowledge of automation and scripting concepts (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to support collaboration with technical teams and understand operational automation opportunities.· Database and middleware operational knowledge (backup/restore, performance tuning, HA/DR patterns)SCADA & Industrial Systems:· Experience in SCADA, protocols such as MODBUS, OPC, MQTT, etc.· Experience in RTUs, PLCs, communication configuration and troubleshooting.· Experience with CygNet SCADA, ForeSite, or similar software.· Understand OT and IT system architecture requirements for SCADA applications.· Knowledgeable of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Oil and Gas SCADA industryAnalytics, Cloud & APIs:· Exposure to Open-Source Analytics.· Experience in Data Analytics, BI applications, and frameworks· Knowledge of Cloud platforms.· Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web applicationsSoft Skills & Additional Requirements:· Exposure to Software support.· Ability to work with minimum supervision.About Us: Weatherford is a leading global energy services company.
