MLT - Medical Laboratory

Performs various technical and support laboratory duties under the supervision of a Medical Technologist.
Uses predetermined criteria for quality control and assures that the technologist in charge is aware of quality results that are out of control. (Prepares and processes specimens according to department procedures and protocols and has limited capacity to result testing. (Performs test order entry accurately and efficiently to ensure proper testing and charges of patient accounts. (Provides support such as answering telephones, faxing reports and reporting stat and critical value results. (Maintains the cleanliness of the work area and adequate supplies for efficient laboratory operations. (May mentor MLA students in specimen processing utilizing WPAHS policies and procedures. (Associates -or- BA degree in a clinical science -or- enrolled in a current Med Tech program
Requires decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Experience in a clinical laboratory, preferred.
