Are you an experienced RN ready to use your clinical expertise in a new way? In this straight weekend role, you will have a direct impact on patient care across all three Sanford Fargo campuses— strong clinical decision-making is essential. You will help ensure patients receive the right care, at the right time, in the right location. As part of the Patient Placement team, you will serve as the central point of contact for providers. You will also monitor real-time and projected bed capacity to support continuous operations throughout the night. This role requires strong critical thinking, confidence in decision-making, and the ability to anticipate patient care needs. This position is full time on a straight night schedule. It is a challenging and rewarding role for an experienced RN. Primary responsibilities include taking phone calls from providers and coordinating patient transfers and care across all Fargo locations. The role supports continuity of operations within the facility by overseeing patient admissions and transfer activity while monitoring current and projected bed and patient care capacity.

The Patient Placement Leader is responsible for continuity of operations within the facility by overseeing patient admissions and transfer activity while monitoring bed/patient care capacity both currently and prospectively. Current knowledge related to departmental policies and each department's clinical practice. Planning for required staffing resources needed to support patient placements. Make appropriate patient placement decisions using admission guidelines that define the level of care each unit can provide and specialty care availability. Uses proactive demand capacity planning to project needed beds and staffing for the number of patients expected to present for admission. Utilizes data measurement and patient flow event information to drive for improved results. Mentors and assists nursing staff to maximize proficiency and timeliness in the admission, transfer and discharge processes. Reviews patient flow events and participates in root cause analysis and improvement activities. Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred. Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Sanford is an EEO/AA Employer M/F/Disability/Vet.
