ALL ABOUT FOOD & BEVERAGE The Food & Beverage team enables a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is fresh, in stock, available and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. They are experts of operations, process and efficiency. This team leads food and food services including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all Food & Beverage areas of the store. The role of a Baker can provide you with the skills and experiences of:

Guest service fundamentals and experience building a guest-first culture in food

Preparing quality products in the Bakery

Monitoring sales of products and adjusting production to drive efficiency, profitability and minimize waste

As a Baker, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:

Help guests find what they need and/or resolve issues to ensure a smooth, easy shopping experience

Deliver an exceptional guest experience by providing a fresh and abundant shopping experience during all hours of operations, prioritizing the guest’s needs over task.

Uphold and maintain the execution of the Food & Beverage Standards.

Engage with guests to capture and fulfill their customized Bakery order.

Execute Food & Beverage processes including food deliveries, replenishment, straightening merchandise, instocks routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing and organizing and storing reserve product.

Produce, package and label items to specifications on production cards and follow specific department routines to drive sales, instocks and profitability

Follow all food safety requirements, including monitoring and recording temperature sensitive food items, as outlined in Target's policies and procedures.

Locate and identify damaged, recalled or expired items and process according to Target's policies and procedures.

Follow proper perishable inventory procedures to ensure an accurate recording of inventory.

Appropriately use and care for in-store and personal protective equipment; follow equipment control guidelines.

comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up (OPU) and Drive-up (DU) and maintain a compliance culture while executing those duties, such as compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR This may be the right job for you if: You enjoy interacting and helping others - including guests that shop our store and fellow team members you work with. You thrive in a fast-moving, highly active and physically demanding role, where teamwork, flexibility, and creative problem solving are key to success. You are open to working a flexible work schedule with varying hours, days or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays and other peak shopping times). The good news is that we have some amazing training that will help teach you everything you need to know to be a Baker. Must be at least 18 years of age or older

Previous baking experience preferred, but not required

Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
