Palletizer Operator- D shift

Position Overview The Palletizer Operator works closely with supervision and quality to ensure optimum levels in quality inspections, package identification, and final packaging on a rotating 12‑hour schedule (5pm–5am). The operator maintains the palletizer operation for 2‑piece or 3‑piece steel cans, ensuring safety, quality, productivity and minimal spoilage.

Responsibilities Understand and follow verbal instructions to completion of assigned tasks.

Maintain palletizer operation with a focus on safety, quality, productivity, and spoilage.

Operate one or more machines for production of 2‑piece or 3‑piece steel cans.

Recognize basic mechanical problems and maintain process equipment.

Communicate all pertinent information between management, co‑workers, and shifts.

Assist, train, and coach new palletizer operators.

Apply methods to improve plant production.

Follow SOPs, plant rules, 6S housekeeping, and equipment modifications to achieve optimal efficiencies.

Enter data into a computer to generate pallet labels.

Perform continuous quality checks and record keeping.

Complete documentation such as monthly SAFE cards, accident/near‑miss/hazard reporting, and data process control input.

Perform other job‑related duties as required.

Minimum Requirements Must be able to work alternate schedules, overtime, voluntary and mandatory shifts based on business needs.

High school education or GED.

Manufacturing experience.

Knowledge of OSHA training in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of AS400 and 6S training competencies.

Problem‑solving skills through individual and/or collaborative approaches.

Ability to work independently or with a team.

Effective leadership skills such as conflict resolution, communication, and decision making.

Good relations skills and ability to motivate or work with people.

Excellent time‑management and multi‑tasking skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.).

Preferred Requirements Manufacturing experience.

Knowledge of all OSHA related training in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of AS400 6S Training Competencies.

Physical Requirements Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Regularly lift and/or move up to 10pounds; frequently up to 25pounds; occasionally up to 50pounds.

Stand 8–12hours per shift.

Climb and descend stairs.
