Join a highly collaborative and patient-centered 30-bed Medical-Surgical unit at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Marble Falls. Our diverse patient population provides a well-rounded clinical experience, including orthopedic (hips and knees), general surgery, urology, podiatry, dialysis, telemetry, geriatric, and general medical-surgical patients.

Our team is committed to delivering exceptional patient care while maintaining a supportive work environment. Registered Nurses care for patients at a 1:5 ratio, while Patient Care Technicians maintain a 1:10 ratio on both day and night shifts, allowing team members to focus on safe, high-quality care.

We provide extensive clinical support, including a dedicated Charge Nurse who carries no patient assignment and is available to assist staff throughout the shift. Our team is also supported by a full-time Wound Care Nurse, helping optimize patient outcomes and providing an additional clinical resource for bedside staff.

Our unit features 100% private patient rooms with decentralized supplies located throughout the unit, creating an efficient workflow that maximizes time spent at the bedside.

An active and engaged Unit Practice Council (UPC) empowers frontline staff to lead change, improve practice, and shape the future of patient care. Our leadership team consists of two Nursing Supervisors and a dedicated Nurse Manager who are highly visible, approachable, and committed to supporting the success and development of every team member.

We serve orthopedic patients(hips/knees), general surgery, geriatric and general med/surg patients. We are a 30 bed med/surg unit.

We staff our patient 1:5 with Registered Nurses and 1:10 with PCTs during the dayshift and PCTs increase to 1:15 during the night.

We have 100% private rooms with decentralized supplies on each wing. We staff a FT Charge Nurse without an assignment to assist staff with care. We have a FT Patent Care Liaison to assist with patient experience as well. We have a well-seasoned team with a perfect blend of new nurse's balance by tenure and experienced teammates. We have a very engaged leadership structure with a supervisor as well as a full complement of Charge Nurses capable of immediately supporting any needs during the transition period.

Job Summary As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.

Essential Functions Of The Role As an RN, conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Building relationships, managing discomfort, staying professional are vital in therapeutic connections with patients and families.

Creating care plans reflecting values aids in resolving issues.

You will help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members. Empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.

Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.

Contribute to peers' development, show community service commitment.

Key Success Factors A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.

Know nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area. Understand hospital procedures and rules.

Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common meds, and their side effects.

Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.

Exceptional communication skills, allowing for clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing.

Basic computer skills, encompassing areas such as Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.

Specialized field of study should be nursing.

RN license.
