HR Generalist - Employee Relations & Recruiting

Price Industries is seeking a Human Resources Generalist in our Winder, GA plant. The successful candidate will report to the HR Manager and be responsible for the day-to-day operations and flow of work for the Human Resources Department, including reports as required on timely basis. Primary responsibility is human resources support encompassing recruitment, new-hire orientation, staff development, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and training. Oversees the implementation of and adherence to existing and new policies and procedures and provides input. Main contact for the Union representatives on issues that may arise along with other related Human Resources functions as assigned.

Recruitment & hiring of hourly personnel & coordination with temporary agency on rates and service

Orientation of new hires & temporaries

Regular training with Supervision and Lead Hands on policies, plant procedures, discipline and equal and fair treatment of all employees i.e. employee relations.

Maintain company bulletin boards in plant and office along with all legal postings

Administration of enrollments for 401k plans (Salaried and Hourly)

Coordinates and handles hourly plant restructuring and layoffs as per policy and contractual obligations

Policy interpretation.

Vacation, holiday and leave questions/concerns.

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, OR

One to two years' experience in the HR field, OR Any similar combination of education and experience

Requires prior knowledge of principles and practices of human resources. Prior experience with an HRIS database preferred. Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.

High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.

Knowledge of office administration procedures.

Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.

Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.
