Travel Labor and Delivery RN (Registered Nurse) Night Shift

Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

TravelNurseSource is working with Lancesoft Inc to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Concord, Massachusetts, 01742!
Coordinates clerical work of the L&D desk.
Stocks labor and delivery rooms with supplies.
Sets OB tables needed for vaginal deliveries.
Assures the safety of the patient population served by demonstrating age-appropriate skills when assisting with nursing care activities as directed by registered nurse.
Performs duties generally supportive to the activities of nursing/patient support which do not require nursing assessment skills during their performance.
Gathers appropriate instrumentation, supplies, equipment, and suture material needed for cesarean deliveries per surgeons preference card.
Prepares the sterile field and arranges sterile instruments, supplies, equipment, and sutures on the back table prior to surgery.
Maintains integrity and sterility of the sterile field throughout the procedure.
Reports immediately to circulating nurse any breaks in aseptic technique.
Possesses knowledge of the procedure (cesarean delivery) and anticipates the surgeons needs throughout the procedure.
Provides instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment to the surgeon in an appropriate and timely fashion.
Implements procedures that contribute to patient safety by performing sponge, needle, blade, and instrument counts per hospital policy, or as requested by the circulating nurse.
Prepares contaminated instrumentation for decontamination process by properly transferring and cleansing them per labor and delivery policy at the end of each procedure.
Assists circulating nurse in turnover of the room, including washing of beds, and overhead lights, removal of linen and trash, and mopping of floor (when housekeeper is not available.)

RN will be doing Scrub responsibilities
Nights, 36 hours, 7:00p-7:30a, every other weekend and every other holiday. Will be required to work the role of unit coordinator when not actively scrubbing. Must have previous OB surgical experience.
