Job Summary:

Telemetry Nurse in Phoenix, AZ. This is a 12-hour night shift position on a telemetry unit specializing in patients with medical and secondary psychiatric diagnoses. The role involves providing acute care to confused, dementia, and patients with low cognitive ability, with a focus on maintaining safety and delivering quality nursing care in a fast-paced environment. Experience in medical-surgical or telemetry units is preferred, and candidates should have a desire to work with the mentally ill population.

Job Details:

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, nights, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; BLS and ACLS certifications; minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in MedSurg/Telemetry; Arizona state licensure, or ability to obtain; must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance; must have at least a Level 1 trauma experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Psychiatric experience; telemetry experience.

Float: Float rotation may be required.

Additional Information: This is a med/surg/telemetry unit for inpatients that may include behavioral health components requiring safety monitoring. All nurses must complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes, with exceptions for specific units; competency in sterile procedures and patient safety is essential. The unit utilizes Cerner EMR; nurse to patient ratio is 1:4. The unit is monitored by video security, with rare physical and chemical restraints used.

Experience required: 2 years minimum.

Shift: 12-hour nights, 4 weekend shifts every 4 weeks, holidays on rotation.
