We served over 15,000 patients - with 40% being uninsured - and totaled 50,000+ medical encounters!Operating out of seven locations, we offer medical care (primary care, dental, vision, OB/GYN, telehealth), behavioral health care, 340B pharmacy, nutritional assistance programs, and more. Working hours are Monday - Friday with occasional Saturday morning coverage.JOB SUMMARYA full-time position responsible for direct provision of oral hygiene and appropriate preventative services to dental patients of the center. The Registered Dental Hygienist will also be responsible for providing appropriate oral health information to individuals and groups.Demonstrates the ability to efficiently function in the business office.Interacts with patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and professional mannerProcesses patients on arrival, verifying and updating patient informationProcesses patients prior to departure from the clinic and directing them to schedule next appointment, pay account balances, etc. in the absence of dental assistant or receptionist representativeOperates the computer system efficiently to complete daily tasksHave the dentist perform a focused exam on scheduled patientsHelps maintain a list of all Dental Department patients, monitors patient flow, and assists the Dental Director, dentist(s), and dental assistant in assuring that all patient records and documents are properly and accurately completedRESPONSIBILITY 2. Demonstrates the ability to efficiently function in the clinical area while assisting in the delivery of oral care and patient care managementIf first person to arrive, turn on computers, units, pump, and compressor. Same procedure is followed for turning off equipment at end of dayPrepares operatory for patient treatment as per Dental Department protocolsSeats patients and records vital signs (i.e. Make accurate periodontal entries in the patient chartObtain baseline oral hygiene assessment data based upon accepted principles of oral hygiene and periodontal careProvides clinical oral hygiene services including dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planning, sealant application, and fluoride treatment consistent with accepted professional practices and standards in compliance with applicable state law and center’s clinical protocolsRecords patient-hygienist transactions as they occur in the patient’s dental record so that the dental record accurately and completely reflects the nature of the contact, the condition of the patient, and treatment providedExpose dental radiographs in accordance with state regulations and law as well as Dental Department directive and protocolTake impressions, as prescribed by the dentistPour up impressions with model plaster, as neededRESPONSIBILITY 3. ACLS preferredKnowledge of public health principles and practices preferredAbility to maintain appropriate clinical privileges required
