Care Specialist
Arbor Grove Assisted Living & Memory Care
Responsible for providing comfort, safety and general supervision to residents by assisting them with activities of daily living, administering medications and tending to their individual care needs, while learning their unique preferences and personalities.
Administer medications to residents according to physician orders and document completion
Review eMAR each shift to ensure timely administration of medications and treatments
Partner with residents to provide needed/requested assistance with activities of daily living as outlined in the residents' service plans
Answer resident call lights, as well as door and safety alarms promptly
Observe and report resident behavior and condition changes to Care Coordinator and Director of Resident Care
Obtain resident weights and vitals
Participate in training new employees as requested
Clean and disinfect resident rooms, work areas and common spaces according to cleaning schedule
Assist and remind residents to participate in activities
Promote positive relationships with residents, staff and visitors
Remain awake and alert while on shift

High school diploma/GED is required.

Must have CPR/First Aid certification or obtain within thirty (30) days of hire.
Computer Skills
Must have demonstrable knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office in a Windows environment, with a capacity to master company specific software.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work with minimal supervision
Professional telephone etiquette and customer service skills
Communicate in a respectful and professional manner with residents, families, co-workers and leadership staff at the community
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle keyboard, telephone, paper, files, and other equipment and objects. This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens. Occasional travel to different locations may be required.
