Outreach Dental Hygienist - FULL TIME

We want you to be a graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program.

We require a current Oregon Dental Hygiene License, or the ability to obtain one before your start date.

We require local anesthesia certification.

We want you to be comfortable working with children, families, school staff, and community partners.

We expect proficiency with EHR systems and basic computer tools such as Word and Excel.

We look for a self-directed, proactive approach to patient care, scheduling, and community outreach.

We provide school-based preventive dental care, with a strong focus on dental sealants and improving access for children.

We complete assessments, intraoral photos, x-rays, and hygiene services independently within our scope of practice.

We educate students, families, school staff, and community partners on oral health and prevention.

We help coordinate school sealant events, schedules, patient participation, and follow-up care.

We identify students who need additional dental treatment and arrange appropriate referrals.

We collaborate with a tele-dentist using advanced telehealth technology for chart review, diagnosis, and restorative treatment planning.

We prescribe antibiotics when appropriate, under guidance from our collaborative dentist, to help stabilize patients until restorative care is available.

We coordinate referrals for restorative treatment with local dental providers.

We perform scoop and fill procedures, with training provided if certification is not yet in place.

We serve as an Oral Health Champion in schools and other community settings assigned to us.

We partner with school personnel, medical providers, and community organizations to connect oral health with overall wellness.

We handle administrative tasks, including insurance verification and electronic health records across dental and medical EHR platforms.

We support community networking, outreach, and patient recruitment efforts.
