Registered Nurse (ICU)

Job Title: Registered Nurse (ICU)

Shift: 12-hour Nights

Must-Have: Central line care, Arterial lines, Bedside bronchoscopy, Cardiac arrest AHA guidelines

Description: The ICU unit includes 8 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2. Patients typically present with conditions such as sepsis, ARDS, ARF, cardiac dysrhythmias, postoperative complex care, overdose, and medical complexities related to behavioral health. Nurses are required to titrate drips for medications such as Cardizem, Propofol, Amiodarone, Norepinephrine, and Precedex. Charge nurses and administrative supervisors support the unit. Clientists are available 24/7, with critical care physicians present from 7 AM to 7 PM. Respiratory therapy services are available around the clock. The unit is equipped with ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, and heated high flow equipment. There are no monitoring technicians on the unit, and registered nurses are responsible for reading cardiac strips. Staff members are expected to work every other weekend and every other holiday. Medical-surgical floating may be required. Solid color scrubs or designated attire are to be worn, adhering to the established dress code policy. Unit-specific orientation will consist of two shifts. The charting system used is EPIC.
