Job Summary A registered nurse specializing in Medical Surgical (Med Surg) is needed to provide inpatient care on a Med Surg unit in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. The position involves monitoring and assessing patients, administering treatments, educating families, and collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure quality patient outcomes, all within a fast-paced hospital setting.
Job Details Shift: Days, 0615 to 1845
Schedule: 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts, guaranteed 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of Med Surg or Emergency Room experience, previous traveler experience, Cerner electronic health record experience, graduate of an accredited RN program, current Colorado RN license in good standing or ability to obtain, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification or completion within 3 months, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or completion within 3 months, basic computer skills and electronic health record experience
Responsibilities: Providing patient care within the RN scope, performing assessments, care planning, monitoring patient status, administering medications and treatments, documenting in Cerner and Care Compass, patient and family education, adhering to infection prevention protocols, maintaining confidentiality, and collaborating with multiple departments.
Work Environment: Hospital setting with exposure to environmental stressors, potential physical exertion including lifting and patient movement, and exposure to biological hazards.
Additional Requirements: Demonstration of professionalism, teamwork, sound judgment, adaptability, and compliance with safety and confidentiality standards.
