RN - Intensive Care Unit (Weekend Nights)

Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse

Provide exceptional patient care in a Cardiac Stepdown setting as an experienced Registered Nurse. In this contract role, you'll deliver comprehensive and compassionate nursing to progressive care patients, including those with heart, lung, and vascular conditions, recent post-OR and ICU, oncology, sepsis, pneumonia, and complex care diagnoses. You'll join a cohesive, patient-centered team for a 1326 week commitment, with options to work either 36 or 48 hours per week.

Schedule:

• Nights
• 36 or 48 hours per week guaranteed
• Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday required, unless approved)
• Rotating holiday coverage required

Key Qualifications:

Active RN license

Minimum 1+ year of recent Cardiac Stepdown/Progressive Care experience

BLS and ACLS certifications required

EPIC EMR experience is mandatory

Demonstrated skills with lines, chest tubes, vasoactive drips, and central lines

Strong communication, critical thinking, and ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team

Black scrubs required

Flu vaccination required during the season unless approved exemption

Essential Responsibilities:

Assess, plan, deliver, and document high-quality nursing care to stepdown-level patients

Monitor patient status, report significant changes, and adapt care plans accordingly

Educate and support patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning

Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, and support staff

Uphold infection control, medication administration, and safety standards

Participate in safety huddles, bedside reports, and compliance activities

Provide appropriate supervision to support personnel

Maintain confidentiality and organizational values at all times
