General upkeep of the office building. Making certain the building(s) is clean and in orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Duties may include, notifying management of need for repairs, and cleaning snow or debris from sidewalk. Job duties may include vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms and small repair work. This position reports to the shift supervisor.

Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.

Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.

Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.

Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.

Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.

Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.

Drive vehicles required to perform or travel to cleaning work, including vans, industrial trucks, or industrial vacuum cleaners.

Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.

Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.

Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.

Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, and snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicals. Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.

Basic Knowledge of repair techniques, or job training alongside and experienced custodian.

Sanitation for Food Facility

Forklift Driver

High school diploma or GED.

High School Diploma or general education diploma (GED).

Language Skills Sets

Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and speak English.

Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.

Regularly works in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.

Must have the ability to read and discern visual images with 20/20 corrected vision.

Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles.
