Senior Mechanical Engineer Roles and Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have knowledge in HVAC system design, project coordination, and industry codes and standards. This role involves working on design projects, communicating with clients and architects, and collaborating with cross-discipline teams to deliver innovative HVAC solutions for various sectors including commercial, retail/hospitality, industrial, healthcare, aviation, transportation (rail/transit/ports), education, and civic/community.

Lead the design, analysis, and implementation of HVAC systems for various projects.
Develop detailed HVAC drawings, specifications, and schematics using CAD and BIM software.

• Perform load calculations, energy analysis, duct and pipe sizing, and equipment selections to optimize system performance.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, local building codes, and sustainability requirements.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, owners, and other engineering disciplines to define project scope and integrate HVAC systems seamlessly.
• Review and approve project documentation including calculations, equipment schedules, construction drawings, RFI’s, and submittals.

Conduct site inspections and troubleshoot HVAC system issues during and after construction.
Stay current with emerging HVAC technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and efficiency.
Assist in preparing project proposals, cost estimates, and client presentations.
Technical report writing.
~ Utilize the PBS Cockpit and contribute additional documents and/or information to it.

Ability to work well under pressure, juggle multiple projects concurrently, and motivate multi-discipline project teams in meeting client needs in a timely manner and within budget objectives.
Strong project management and leadership capabilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and HVAC design software (EnergyPro, Carrier HAP, and IESVE or Trane Trace 700 if applicable).
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Associate Degree focused on HVAC Design/Installation.
LEED Certification, CEM, PMP, or CxA is a plus.
