PipelayerWe're looking for a Pipelayer who will be responsible for performing tasks related to the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground piping systems. This role works closely with equipment operators, laborers, and project supervisors to ensure water, sewer, and storm drain piping is installed safely, accurately, and efficiently. The Pipelayer must be able to interpret instructions, operate equipment, and perform physical labor in varying site conditions while consistently upholding RNGD's safety, quality, and productivity standards.Core ResponsibilitiesPipe Installation and RepairInstall, repair, and maintain underground piping systems including water, sewer, and storm drain.Lay pipe to proper grade and slope in accordance with project specifications and plans.Perform trench excavation, backfilling, and compaction to prepare sites for pipe installation.Use hand tools and small equipment to cut, fit, and connect piping materials.Inspect completed pipe installations to ensure proper alignment, sealing, and functionality.Equipment OperationOperate heavy equipment such as skid steers, mini-excavators, and trenching equipment under supervision.Use compaction equipment, pipe lasers, and other construction tools safely and effectively.Perform basic equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns to supervisors.Site Preparation and SupportAssist with trench shoring, bedding placement, and installation of pipe supports.Clear and prepare job sites for pipe installation activities.Assist operators and crew members with lifting, moving, and placing materials.Safety and ComplianceAdhere to company and site-specific safety programs at all times.Identify and report unsafe conditions or practices to supervisors immediately.Comply with OSHA, environmental, and company safety requirements.Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow trenching and excavation safety standards.Two (2) or more years of experience in heavy civil construction or underground utility installation.Knowledge of underground pipe installation methods, grades, and slopes.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.Experience operating heavy equipment such as skid steers and mini-excavators.Physical ability to perform labor-intensive work, including trenching, lifting, and working in confined spaces.Experience with laser-guided pipe installation preferred.Trench and excavation competent person training preferred.Experience working on municipal, DOT, or large-scale civil projects preferred.Safety Awareness & ComplianceDemonstrates consistent awareness of job-site hazards and safety requirements.Follows trenching, excavation, and PPE protocols without exception.Technical Skill & Quality of WorkApplies proper pipe-laying techniques to achieve accurate grade, alignment, and slope.Uses tools, equipment, and materials correctly to ensure quality installations.Identifies and corrects installation issues to meet project standards and specifications.Accepts direction and feedback constructively to improve performance.Maintains focus and productivity in physically demanding and changing site conditions.Shows initiative in supporting crew needs and maintaining an organized job site.About the CompanyRNGD is a rapidly scaling organization emerging as a nationally recognized leader in construction through our unique Renegade mindset focused on innovation, creativity, and culture.
