Facilities Maintenance (Handyman) - Full Time

Under general supervision, performs a variety of skilled maintenance duties to include construction, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, generators, bay doors and painting. Performs maintenance on HVAC to include electronic system calibration and management.

Performs periodic and preventative maintenance, testing, and calibrating on all heating, ventilating, refrigeration units and air condition equipment to include monitoring of systems electronically.

• Moves furniture and boxes, replaces ballasts, lamps and light fixtures
• Troubleshoots and repairs complex building systems such as generator, fuel systems, fire and intrusion alarms, fire protection systems, access control systems and bay door components.
• Monitors and maintains computerized control systems, fire detection and security systems.
• Assists in monitoring various contractors to include special projects and mowing contractor duties.
• Contacts various vendors in order to obtain bids on material and services. Adheres to personnel, safety, and department policies and procedures.
• A High School or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is required.
• Must have a valid state-issued driver's license and driving record must be in compliance with Town policy.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Two (2) years of previous commercial building maintenance experience is preferred.
Perform strenuous physical activities to include bending, kneeling, and stooping; of pressure, lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying heavy objects to include equipment and supplies several times a day; work in adverse environmental and hazardous conditions to include mechanical, electrical, fume odor, dust/mist, chemicals, and other solid waste substances.

Completion of trade school or HVAC training is preferred.
Must have a good working knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, carpentry operations.

• Must have good hand/foot/eye coordination to operate equipment and be able to follow oral and written directives.
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
