Mechanical Engineer, Maneuver Dominance

Anduril is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Maneuver Dominance team at our Costa Mesa HQ. The Maneuver Dominance (MD) Team at Anduril develops aerial robotic systems designed to operate in large coordinated teams in concert with ground maneuver forces. We develop perception, autonomy, and command and control (C2) systems to solve some of the hardest problems facing our customers. Here you will work on core product development of portable C2 systems including the integration with ground and air vehicles. Execute rapid evaluation of engineering concepts in a wide range of fields

Perform trade studies and physics-based analysis of blue-sky engineering problems

Design, implementation, and test of complex electro-mechanical systems

Lead design reviews, run analysis, visit vendors, define and execute hardware test plans

Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production

Support critical hardware demonstrations with customers as needed

Travel to test sites as needed

Experience in an immersive technical project (collegiate project teams or professional settings)

Experience designing mechanical parts (CAD). Understanding of manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, injection molding, composite lamination, etc)

High competence with, and fluid use of, engineering first principles

BS, MS or PhD in an engineering field, or equivalent work experience

Secret security clearance

Experience developing aircraft subsystem layouts, performing architectural trade studies, and evaluating vendor performance data

Competency in engineering analysis, including structural, thermal, and electrical

Hands-on prototyping (soldering, board assembly, harnessing)

Experience integrating electrical and mechanical subsystems (sensors, payloads, weapons, etc.) Experience in developing a variety of electronics hardware products (UAVs, wearables, firearms, high power electric propulsion, optical systems, or other complex mechanisms)

Practical experience with electrical engineering tools (Oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, multimeters)
