Pharmacist (Part-Time) - Pharmacy

Join to apply for the Pharmacist role at Indian Health Service This position is located at one of the various Indian Health Hospitals or Clinics under the Navajo Area Office. It involves providing direct pharmaceutical care for inpatient and outpatient services at the Service Units, managing patients with chronic disease states, and delivering pharmaceutical care for acute patients.

Responsibilities Conduct outpatient pharmacy clinics for examination, follow-up, and treatment of specialized patients. Take health histories, follow and adjust treatment plans, and monitor patient outcomes.

Counsel patients on medication use, storage, cautions, and side effects, and document cognitive services provided.

Provide complex medication treatment, monitoring, management, and consultation involving risks to patient safety, working with all levels of healthcare providers and patients.

Provide education and training to medical staff, pharmacy, nursing staff, pharmacy residents, students, and patients about medications, disease states, and health promotion.

Must obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges and licensure

Basic Education and Licensure Requirements Doctoral degree in Pharmacy recognized by ACPE or equivalent

Licensed to practice pharmacy in the U.Experience Requirements Minimum of three years of higher-level graduate education for GS-11; one additional year of professional pharmacy experience for GS-12. Experience includes dispensing medications, evaluating medication use, administrative work, planning medication programs, researching medical literature, and maintaining medication records.
