This is not a support role buried in maintenance. You will lead efforts to identify failure modes, eliminate recurring issues, and implement reliability strategies that drive measurable improvement across the operation.
My client, a global manufacturer of custom-engineered industrial materials, is seeking a Reliability Engineer to support equipment reliability, maintenance strategy development, and overall asset performance at its U.S. manufacturing operation. This is a full-time, on‑site role based in the Michigan City, Indiana area, ideal for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of maintenance, engineering, and production support.

85,000–$105,000 + 10% annual bonus

Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability
Analyze equipment failures and implement root cause solutions to eliminate repeat issues
Identify and manage asset reliability risks that impact plant operations
Utilize predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, thermography, and condition monitoring
Support troubleshooting efforts and provide technical guidance to maintenance and production teams
Collaborate with engineering and operations to improve equipment performance and process reliability
Support new equipment installations by ensuring reliability and maintainability considerations are incorporated into design and commissioning
Develop maintenance procedures, standards, and documentation
Evaluate equipment performance and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, quality, and uptime
Participate in vendor selection, equipment evaluation, and acceptance testing processes
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
3+ years of experience in reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, or manufacturing engineering
Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies
Experience with reliability tools such as vibration analysis, infrared thermography, and condition monitoring
Experience performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude within manufacturing environments
Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment
Familiarity with CMMS systems such as SAP or Maintenance Connection
Experience in plastics manufacturing, extrusion, or continuous process environments is a plus
