The Nurse practices independently within a clinical setting, providing both routine and complex patient care. They demonstrate awareness of all relevant aspects of each situation, manage contingencies, and develop long-term care plans. The role involves making appropriate assignments and delegating tasks to other care providers to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

Utilize the nursing process - assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.

Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their practice level.

Administer medications and treatments following protocols, monitoring for side-effects and efficacy.

Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately.

Assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers, identifying issues and available resources.

Qualifications & Skills

Preferred Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.

At least 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.

Required BLS certification and RN license valid in the state of employment or via compact licensing.
