System Engineering (Mechanical)

Senior Mechanical Engineer

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Mechanical Engineer. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

Must be proficient with solid modeling CAD tools (Creo) to create mechanical models and accompanying drawings

Shows initiative on assignments, exercises independent judgment and professionally executes projects with little direction

Prefer proficient knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools (ANSYS)

Demonstrates proficiency in writing technical papers and proposals

Demonstrates history of leading an engineering project and team

Knowledge in mechanical testing such as pyroshock, vibration and thermal vacuum testing

Proficiency with modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings

Creative thinker capable of leading a team in the preparation of project design, testing, and prototype fabrication

Flexible schedules with every other Friday off work, if desired (9/80 schedule)
