CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for a Database Administrator within our Intel sector advancing the national

security mission through cutting edge technology. The Database Administrator (DBA) job involves managing, maintaining, and securing an organization's databases to

ensure data integrity, availability, and performance. Key duties include database installation, configuration, capacity

planning, performance monitoring, implementing backups and recovery procedures, and ensuring robust security

DBAs also collaborate with other departments to meet data requirements and troubleshoot any technical

database issues.

Installation and Configuration: Setting up and configuring database systems and servers according to the organization's

Performing regular maintenance, applying patches and updates, and upgrading database

software to ensure optimal performance.

• Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing

Implementing and managing security measures to protect sensitive data, including access controls and

Establishing and executing backup and recovery plans to prevent data loss and ensure business

Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving technical issues and errors within the database environment.

• Data Integrity: Ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of the data stored within the databases.
• User Management: Creating user accounts and assigning permissions to control access to databases and their data.
• Capacity Planning: Monitoring and planning for future storage and resource needs to accommodate data growth.
• Working with other departments and developers to understand data requirements and integrate

databases with applications

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree and/or 5 to 10 years of experience

• Security Clearance: TS/SCI required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI with Poly highly desired
• Expertise in various database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server).
• Meticulousness in managing data and systems to prevent errors and ensure accuracy.
• Security Awareness: Deep understanding of data security principles and best practices.
