Whether it’s underwriting, claims, accounting, IT, legal, or customer service, Great American Insurance Group combines a small-company entrepreneurial atmosphere with big- company expertise.Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities*** Evaluates and underwrites new and renewal business in accordance with Company underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.* Analyzes risk data to make informed decisions on coverage, pricing, and terms.* Orders and reviews additional reports and screens, such as motor vehicle reports, loss history reports, outside inspections, etc., Ensures proper documentation of underwriting decisions and compliance with state and federal insurance regulations.* Evaluates existing policies for potential renewal or modification.* Stays updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions.* Develops and maintains effective business relationships with internal and external customers/coworkers, focusing on generating new business and retaining profitable business.* The person in this role will work remotely in the Missouri territory.**Job Requirements**### **Education:** Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Risk Management and Insurance, or a related field or equivalent experience.### ### **Experience:** Generally, a minimum of 5 years of experience in Underwriting or a related field. Completion of or continuing progress toward a professional designation preferred, such as Associate in Underwriting (AU), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Program in General Insurance (INS), or Associate of Risk Management (ARM).### **Scope of Job/Qualifications:** Performs work under general supervision and technical direction. Maintains strong knowledge of company policies and industry laws and regulations.
