Travel RN Job Details
Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,090–$2,200
Schedule: 3 shifts per week
Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.–Healthcare Setting: Short-term acute care hospital Emergency Department serving adult and pediatric patients
Electronic Health Record: Epic
Approximately 1:5 on day shifts
Assignment Notes: Travel nursing assignment; Local-radius restrictions are waived for this assignment, but candidates residing within 75 miles are not eligible.
Time-Off Policy: Holiday time off is not available; Emergency Room RN Job Requirements
At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience
Experience in a general Emergency Department caring for combined adult and pediatric patients
Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Connecticut; Proficiency with triage, isolation precautions and PPE, central line care, arterial line management, and starting and maintaining IVs
Epic or comparable electronic health record experience
Flu vaccination required; Ability to float within the department or to another appropriate unit as needed
Emergency Department RN Responsibilities
Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult and pediatric Emergency Department patients
Perform rapid assessments, prioritize care, and support emergency triage processes
Monitor and manage patients with acute and complex conditions, including dysrhythmias and respiratory compromise
Initiate and maintain peripheral IV access and provide central and arterial line care
Care for patients requiring ventilatory support, including BiPAP, CPAP, and mechanical ventilation
Follow infection prevention, isolation, and personal protective equipment procedures
Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team
Work scheduled day shifts, including every other weekend, and float when needed
