Teller / Bank Teller - Nights

About the Role As the first point of contact for most clients, Tellers play a key role in delivering on the bank's Breakthrough Client Service Standards. With guidance from the Float Manager, various Branch Managers and Assistant Branch Managers, the Teller-Float role’s primary responsibility is to ensure banking transactions are performed accurately, ethically, and in compliance with Columbia Bank procedures and banking regulations.
The Teller-Float role is also responsible for traveling within a geographic area to cover branches that need staffing support and always performs teller transactions and cash handling functions for clients with accuracy and confidentiality.
Typical duties include:
Deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, payments, transfers, and check cashing
Balancing the cash drawer
Double custody in balancing the ATM
Processing night-drop deposits and returned mail
Balancing negotiable instruments and the credit card machine
Updating lobby rate sheets and brochures
Mitigating risk by ensuring safekeeping of money in the cash drawer and prompt accounting or transfer of funds; interacting with external and internal clients; anticipating needs and consistently providing proactive solutions and problem resolutions in alignment with the bank’s Breakthrough Client Service Standards; deepening knowledge of Columbia Bank’s products and services and staying current on changes; discussing and uncovering customers financial needs to identify and offer appropriate products and services; and supporting referral goals for the branch by focusing on and referring basic bank products to the appropriate business partner.
About You High School Diploma or GED, required.
1 year of previous banking or customer service experience, preferred.
Bilingual preferred.
Ability to learn and comply with all Bank policies, procedures, and systems.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with written numbers, words, and verbal and written instructions.
Willingness to build relationships with clients and other bank associates.

Pay and Compensation The pay range for this role is $18 to $21. The pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non‑discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation; details will be provided during the recruitment process.
