Registered Nurse II - Medical/Surgical/Telemetry

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse II to join our Telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and the necessary certifications and experience to thrive in a fast-paced medical/surgical environment.

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients on the Telemetry unit.

Monitor patient vitals and interpret telemetry strips, ensuring accuracy and timely response to changes in patient status.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized patient care plans.

Assist in the management of patients experiencing a range of common diagnoses, such as CHF, COVID-19, respiratory issues, gastrointestinal concerns, and post-operative care.

Participate in patient and family education initiatives to promote understanding of health conditions and care plans.

Float to other units as needed based on patient care requirements and staffing demands.

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.

ACLS and BLS certifications are required.

A minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience in a Telemetry or similar unit.

Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips, with experience in CVA and TIA cases preferred.

Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical record system is recommended.

Experience with total joint replacements is a plus.

12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM.

Self-scheduling is utilized within a balanced framework set by management.

Weekend and holiday shifts are expected, with specific requirements for major holidays.

The unit features a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5 and is supported by nursing aides.

Respiratory therapy equipment such as BiPAP and CPAP is available on the unit.

Orientation on the unit will be provided for one shift to familiarize with protocols and procedures.

Dress code requires navy blue scrubs.
