Title:Senior Software EngineerBelong. Grow. with KBR!KBR’s National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. KBR is seeking a Sr Software Engineer to work on-site at Schriever SFB, near Colorado Springs, CO for our front range operations and sustainment effort. We liaison with an IC customer and Satellite Control Network to provide satellite support services to our mission critical customer. Our team handles real time on-orbit support, launch ascent support and End-of-Life operations for all NOPS missions. The software team works in a state-of-the-art dynamic environment to develop new containerized software and maintain existing software for different needs on the program.Innovative Projects: KBR’s work is at the forefront of engineering, logistics, operations, science, program management, mission IT and cybersecurity solutions.Maintain software used to establish connections for status & control of ground equipment.Provide Java software development. Perform all aspects of software engineering support required to implement systems.Also maintain software that handles scheduling of on-orbit contacts, and orbit calculations.Write software that supports launch operations with trajectory calculations for the SpaceX and ULA vendors.Provide support to team members primarily with Java development and utilizing the Spring Boot framework.Develop React-based user interfaces for operator interaction.Assist writing microservices that interact with a variety of vendor interfaces for data processing.Deploy new containerized applications in Kubernetes environments.Assist with new customer requests by extending and enhancing existing capabilities and creating new ones where needed.MinimalWorking Hours: 1st shift, regular hoursScheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hoursQualifications:Required:Clearance: TS/SCI with a Polygraph Education:Undergraduate degree in computer science or related field Experience: 5 years of software engineering (development/coding) experienceExperience and proficiency with Java programming languageKnowledge with Spring Boot framework or other similar experienceInterpersonal Skills: Ability to interface effectively with users, customers, management, and other engineering personnel Preferred Qualifications:Knowledgeable with IDE for Java software development or other similar experienceExperience with Gitlab or other similar CI/CD experienceExperience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB.Experience using/writing Ansible automation scripts.Experience with C++ programming language.Working knowledge of SQL databases.If you’re excited about making a significant impact in the field of space defense and working on projects that matter, we encourage you to apply and join our team at KBR.
