Bookeeper (Accounting/Finance)

Job Description
Position is responsible for the performance of a variety of accounting functions. Assist the Chief Finance Officer in preparing and posting monthly adjusting journal entries to the City's funds, reconcile all City bank accounts and prepare reports including reports on comparative revenues and expenditures for the general fund, comparative gasoline, New Mexico and Navajo sales tax reports, New Mexico water conservation fee and detailed reports concerning the status of investments, interest income, budget comparison and any other reports required by management and City council. Prepares and maintains fixed asset reports in compliance with annual audit reporting. Reconciles benefit billings with eligible employees. Maintains account receivable reconciliations for all City receivables.
Additional Information:
Starting Pay: $25.10 P/H
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma equivalent (GED)
Associates Degree or equivalent in accounting, finance or business administration
Five (5) years or more experience in accounting may be substituted for education
Five (5) years experience in Microsoft Office
Valid driver's license. Must meet City's insurability requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration
Governmental Accounting experience
