Security Officers are responsible for observing and reporting safety and security hazards affecting the personnel and property of the University; and to assist in enforcing University Safety and Security rules and regulations. Security access of authorized personnel into the University

Operating telephone, radio, and motor vehicle equipment

Report all building utility/service issues, as observed, to the Facilities Dept.

Monitor alarm/panels for emergencies that might arise within the facility

High School Diploma or G.Prior Law Enforcement, Military, or Security Experience

Customer Service Skills

Basic computer skills

Must have sufficient hearing to respond to normal verbal speech, alarms, radio and telephone communications

Must have sufficient visual acuity to read and understand faculty/staff listings, posted orders, maps, computer screens, check identification, and to distinguish the faces of faculty/staff, contractors, vendors, guests and visitors

Must be able to stand, walk and/or drive for up to 90% of the assigned shift

Must have a command of the English language that is easily understood
