Registered Nurse - Cardiac Care ICU

This position is for a travel nurse in the CVICU at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. The shift is from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with 36 scheduled hours per week. The contract duration is 16 weeks, starting 3-4 weeks out per compliance tier. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2. Two years of cardiac/CVICU ICU experience are required. Certifications needed include ACLS and BLS. The nurse will not be on-call but will float within the service line to meet facility needs. Local candidates are not accepted within a 75-mile radius. Guaranteed hours are 36.
The hospital is a Magnet & Teaching Hospital with 1,266 staffed beds. Parking is available with monthly passes. The hospital uses EPIC for charting. The nurse will need to pass a Relias EKG exam.
The nurse will care for patients with conditions such as acute heart failure, CHF exacerbation, fluid overload, post cardiac arrest, complete heart block, cardiogenic shock, pre-heart transplant, arrhythmias, ventricular tachycardia, and manage vasoactive drips, central lines, PA/TVP catheter monitoring, dialysis, foley, intra-aortic balloon pumps, LVADs, Impella, and Impella.
