A specialty veterinary organization in the Austin metro area is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join a highly collaborative team focused on advanced diagnostic medicine and complex case management.

This is an opportunity to practice medicine in a setting where the emphasis is on thoughtful diagnostics, patient care, collaboration, and clinical growth rather than a high-volume appointment schedule.

Veterinarians coming from general practice, emergency medicine, or specialty environments will receive extensive training and hands-on support to become comfortable working within this unique model of care.

As an Associate Veterinarian, you'll manage patients undergoing advanced diagnostic evaluation while collaborating closely with specialists, experienced veterinary technicians, referring veterinarians, and the broader clinical team.

Developing diagnostic plans in collaboration with referring veterinarians and veterinary specialists

Managing anesthesia and sedation for advanced diagnostic procedures

Maintaining high standards for patient safety, medical quality, and documentation

Helping coordinate patient flow and daily clinical operations

Training & Clinical Development

The organization provides structured onboarding, mentorship, and hands-on clinical training designed to help experienced veterinarians transition into advanced diagnostic medicine.

Training may include:

Ultrasound and radiography case coordination

Specialty anesthesia and sedation protocols

Collaboration with veterinary specialists

As you become established in the role, there may also be opportunities to mentor veterinary interns, participate in education, strengthen referral relationships, and take on additional leadership responsibilities.

Eligibility for veterinary licensure in Texas

Clinical experience in general practice, emergency medicine, specialty medicine, or another fast-paced veterinary environment

Strong patient assessment and medical decision-making skills

Comfort with anesthesia and sedation

Three or more years of clinical veterinary experience

Experience with diagnostic imaging or referral medicine

Experience mentoring interns, veterinary students, or other veterinarians
