Head of Operations & Business Management

Red River Revel is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Shreveport, Louisiana. Founded in 1976, the Red River Revel produces the Red River Revel Arts Festival, Shreveport Farmers' Market, Cork Wine Festival, and Bourbon & Barbeque Festival.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, analytical, and organized leader who will join our management team. You will be responsible for leading the company's internal business operations as follows:

Provide extensive support to the Executive Director and manage various operational systems of the Red River Revel's porftolio of events and educational programs. Duties include systems management, purchasing, budget administration, database management, and assisting finance personnel with the administration of the annual audit. Acts as liaison with various entities and represents the Revel in accordance with policies and procedures.

We are looking to hire a full-time (9AM-5PM, Mon‑Fri) candidate. Hours are increased occasionally with Spring or Summer events and consistently in late September through mid‑October.

Develop a thorough working knowledge of policies and procedures in order to assist the Director in ensuring compliance

Assist the Director in writing grant and foundation requests

Assist Treasurer and finance personnel to prepare annual financial statements and audit materials

Assist in preparation and review of budget for Board, foundation, and grantor requests

Manage the database system and maintain accurate records of all contacts

Ensure regulatory compliance with state and federal agencies, licensing, and insurance

Serve as staff liaison to Festival Production Committee operations

Interface with Executive Director, Governing Board, staff and FPC in full compliance with set policies and procedures

Ensure maintenance and confidentiality of Revel office records

Advise the Director of recommended maintenance of all Revel equipment as needed

Manage monthly expenses, email systems, mail and physical and digital filing

Maintain all operational relationships such as contract labor, the City of Shreveport, and rental companies

Support accounting including AP, AR, invoices, and statements, including the preparation and delivery of deposits

Oversee preparation and materials needed for all meetings

Coordinate purchasing of equipment, materials, software, and hardware supplies needed in accordance with policies and procedures

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Applications is required

Candidates should have the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment with volunteers and vendors who possess a variety of personalities, skill sets, and communication styles

A bachelor's degree in business, nonprofit management, or related field is preferred. However, 3+ years of working experience in operations, accounting, and/or nonprofit administration will be considered a valuable asset comparable to higher educational degrees

Working knowledge of the following applications is preferred: QuickBooks, Google Admin Services & Workspace, VOIP Phone Systems, Credit Card Processing Systems, Monday, Slack

This position is primarily office‑based with some local travel for operational functions. Evening and weekend availability is required during festival periods.
