Remote Architect

Join our dynamic Portland-based team as a Principal Embedded Platform Architect, serving as the critical onsite technical lead for a global engineering initiative. You will be the primary technical liaison between our valued customer and a high-performing offshore specialist team, focusing on next-generation embedded platforms and AI-driven solutions across automotive and connected-device domains. This role offers the chance to drive architectural decisions for cutting-edge projects and to influence the future of embedded systems.

[Act as the sole onsite technical point of contact, bridging customer needs and offshore engineering deliverables.

• Interpret customer requirements, define solution strategies, and drive all platform architecture decisions.
• Coordinate, mentor, and review the technical output of a specialist offshore engineering team.
• Oversee system integration, manage cross-workstream dependencies, and ensure quality, timely deliverables.
• Lead technical discussions, present architecture recommendations, and maintain high stakeholder engagement.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across application, middleware, OS, driver, and network layers.
• Conduct performance analysis, benchmarking, profiling, and optimize embedded systems for reliability and efficiency.
• Ensure platform security, observability, diagnostics, and remote debugging capabilities are robustly implemented.
• Champion system modernization, Linux-to-Android service migration, and adoption of edge-AI architectures.

[12+ years in embedded software development and platform architecture.

• Deep expertise in C, C++, QNX, Embedded Linux, Android, and Qualcomm platforms.
• Proficiency with middleware, device interfaces, hardware abstraction, and cross-platform libraries.
• Demonstrated experience in system integration, virtualization, performance optimization, and platform security.
• Strong knowledge of embedded AI architecture and model deployment on Qualcomm platforms.
• Proven leadership in customer-facing architecture roles and distributed team coordination.
• Background in automotive IVI, ADAS, IFE, airline, or transportation domains.
• Multimedia, network audio, and device communication protocol experience (SPI, I2C, UART, etc.).
• Android CTS/VTS and Linux Device Driver development knowledge.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, Docker, Agile/Scrum, Jira, and Confluence.
