Physiatrist Physician (Physician )

POSITION SUMMARY This Physical Therapist will evaluate, plan, administer, and supervise physical therapy treatment in accordance with physician referral, state and national standards, and departmental policies. The role involves working across all hospital areas including Med‑Surg, Ortho, Neurology, ICU/CCU, CVICU, PCU, ED, and Observation, conducting assessments, devising treatment plans, providing skilled therapy, documenting clinical activity, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. The position also participates in department meetings, process improvement, and productivity standards, while ensuring safe, evidence‑based, patient‑centered care.
CORE FUNCTIONS Evaluates patient’s functional abilities and limitations, establishes evidence‑based goals, and initiates discharge planning.

Implements individualized treatment plans, assessing effectiveness, and modifying care as needed while involving patients and families in decision‑making.

Documents clinical practice according to regulatory guidelines, maintaining legible and timely records of treatment and progress.

Communicates patient information and progress to physicians, nurses, family, and interdisciplinary team, ensuring clear, timely follow‑through of care.

Adapts to caseload, scheduling, and staffing needs, taking initiative to assist across patient care areas.

Supervises and delegates tasks to PTAs, ATCs, therapy technicians, and students, ensuring competency and compliance with regulations.

Participates in department meetings, process improvement, and meets productivity standards.

Interacts with staff at all levels, external contacts, and physician offices to facilitate comprehensive patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Graduate of an APTA‑accredited School of Physical Therapy or equivalent.
Current Physical Therapist license in the state of practice.
BLS certification required.
Demonstrated clinical competency, experience, and education as required by the role.
Proficiency with common computer/software tools used in an automated patient‑care environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Additional related education and/or experience.
