Job Title: Loan Officer Location: Buffalo, NY Employment Type: Direct Placement Industry: Banking Compensation: $25.95/hr. Schedule: M-F 9:00AM-5:00PM (with rotating Saturdays/1 per month 9AM-1PM) About the Opportunity:
The Loan Officer / Member Service Officer (MSO) is a relationship-driven lending professional who works closely with members in person, by phone, and online to understand their financial needs and guide them through lending and account decisions.
This role goes beyond transactional banking and needs sound judgment, empathy, independence, and the ability to tailor solutions to individual member circumstances while supporting members through important financial moments.
Strong focus on partnership, innovation, and delivering meaningful results for clients and candidates.

Conduct lending interviews and underwrite consumer loan applications in alignment with the clients' lending philosophy and ethical standards.
Open accounts and identify opportunities to recommend appropriate products and services.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure regulatory and policy compliance.
Participate in team culture, outreach, and community engagement efforts.
Educate members and refer them to additional credit union resources when appropriate.

High School Diploma or GED.
~3+ years of experience in lending, credit unions, financial services, nonprofit work, or high-level member service.

Comfortable communicating by phone and in person.
Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and remain agile in a fast-paced environment.
