Job Title: Phlebotomist in Woodstock

This role focuses on performing high-quality phlebotomy services, including blood draws and other specimen collections, while delivering courteous and professional customer service to patients of all ages, with an emphasis on geriatric populations. The Phlebotomist II accurately collects, labels, processes, and stores specimens in accordance with established procedures and regulatory standards, ensuring the integrity of all samples for laboratory testing. This position also supports daily laboratory operations by maintaining equipment, documenting required information, and responding to patient and provider inquiries.

Perform venipuncture and other blood collection procedures using straight needles and butterfly needles in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.

Explain the venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures (such as urine or fecal collection) clearly and courteously to patients to ensure understanding and comfort.

Check all test requisitions or computer-generated labels against the script or orders to ensure 100% accuracy before processing.

Store specimen samples at the required temperature and place them in the appropriate collection containers or tubes, accurately labeling them and following protocol-specific procedures.

Record maintenance data and perform decontamination tasks as required to support safe and compliant laboratory operations.

Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and adhere to all safety and infection control procedures at all times.

Attend and complete annual department trainings to maintain current knowledge of procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Answer telephone calls in a professional manner and read or relay laboratory results to satisfy inquiries in accordance with established policies.

Provide excellent customer service to patients, clinical staff, and other stakeholders, maintaining a courteous and respectful demeanor.

Handle a high volume of patient draws per day while maintaining accuracy, quality, and patient-focused care.

At least 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience.

Experience performing approximately 30 or more patient draws per day in a clinical setting.

High school diploma (HS Diploma).

Strong customer service skills and experience interacting directly with patients.

Experience handling multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and quality.

Comfort using computer systems for labels, requisitions, and patient information updates.

Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.

This position is based in an outpatient setting within a specialty care medical practice at the Woodstock location. The role follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. You work primarily in a clinical laboratory and patient care environment, handling blood and other biological specimens while using standard phlebotomy equipment such as straight needles, butterfly needles, collection tubes, and centrifuges. The environment supports professional growth, with potential for the role to transition to a permanent position and opportunities to progress into more advanced laboratory or coordination roles over time. Dress is consistent with a professional clinical and laboratory setting, with appropriate attire and protective equipment required to ensure safety and infection control.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woodstock, GA.
