Registered Nurse (RN), Emergency Room Nursing

Role Summary
The qualified nurse practices independently in a clinical setting, delivering routine and complex care while managing long-term goals. They assign and delegate tasks to care providers to effectively handle clinical situations and develop contingency management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Provide nursing care following the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.

Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.

Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.

Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.

Assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers, identifying issues and resources.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Minimum of 1 year experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.

Current RN license in the state of employment or a compact license.

Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC.

Participation in orientation, precepting, and competency validation is essential.

Additional Requirements

Completion of annual competency verifications.

Ability to obtain necessary certifications within designated time frames.

Experience in acute care and related service lines enhances candidacy.
