Job Description The Space System Engineer will lead complex spacecraft development projects within a large, multidisciplinary engineering team. This role demands deep expertise in system design, integration, and risk management, supporting cutting-edge space systems from concept through validation. The engineer will collaborate across departments in a matrix structure to ensure mission success, reporting to multiple stakeholders while working full-time onsite in a secure facility in El Segundo, California. Plan and conduct testing and performance validation activities
Assess risks and implement mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle
Document engineering processes, test results, and compliance information
Integrate hardware and software components for full system operation
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues during development
Collaborate cross-functionally within a large engineering team and matrix reporting environment

15+ years of experience in spacecraft development, integration, testing, or space systems engineering

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field
• Expertise in systems engineering and requirements analysis
• Proven skills in risk management and mitigation
• Proficiency with simulation tools and project management methodologies
• Willingness to work full-time onsite in a SCIF facility

Experience leading projects within large, multi-disciplinary engineering teams (16+ members)
Ability to collaborate across disciplines and departments in a matrix reporting structure
