Job PostingSouthern Hospitality Company, an entity of Southern Land Company, is headquartered in Nashville, TN and is seeking a prep cook to open our new Italian restaurant, Lupo Notte. The Prep Cook will assist in preparing and some cooking of the food for Lupo Notte. They will also perform other related tasks to food preparation and kitchen sanitation/cleanliness as directed by the Chef. This position requires adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards.Maintains food quality, consistency, and portion controlAssumes responsibility for quality of product they are preparingAssists Chef/Sous Chef with set-up and preparation of food itemsCarefully follows standard recipes while preparing all assigned itemsUnderstands how to properly use and maintain the equipmentPerforms necessary clean-up and sanitation maintenance activities for all food preparation and storage facilities as directed by the Chef/Sous ChefCarries clean dishes to cook's line and other proper storage areasAssists with product receiving and/or storage of productsFull compliance with the Department of Health regulationsPerform other duties assigned by Chef/Sous ChefQualifications, knowledge, and skill requirements include:1 year of cooking experienceExperience in managing and upholding a safe working conditionUnderstanding the knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling proceduresMust be dependableMust be able to work well in a fast-paced environmentMust be able to work in a team environmentAbility to understand English to a level to properly understand assigned tasksMust be able to take directionEducation/Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferredPhysical demands include:Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 poundsWorks in non-weather high temperaturesMaintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearanceSouthern Land Company believes that community is the heart of every successful development project.
