Job Description 1st Grade Classroom Teacher - Lincoln

Salary per CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreements), $62,847.97 to $118,336.00

Qualifications Degree in Elementary Education. Licensed in Early Childhood K-2

Knowledge of current Massachusetts Frameworks expectations for Reading and Writing across the curriculum.

Deep understanding of scientifically based reading research and evidence-based practices for teaching K-5 in literacy and math. Knowledge of best practices for assessing student progress toward achievement of standard.

Excellent communication skills.

Reports to: Building Principal

Standards for All Teachers Plans Curriculum and Instruction Draws on content standards of the relevant curriculum frameworks to plan sequential units of study, individual lessons, and learning activities that make learning cumulative and advance students' level of content knowledge.

Draws on results of formal and informal assessments as well as knowledge of human development to identify teaching strategies and learning activities appropriate to the specific discipline, age, level of English language proficiency, and range of cognitive levels being taught.

Identifies appropriate reading materials, other resources, and writing activities for promoting further learning by the full range of students within the classroom.

Welcome to Lincoln Elementary School About the Lincoln Elementary SchoolThe Lincoln School is an award winning building that links a historic landmark with modern architecture. Reopened September 2000, the Lincoln School is a K-5 school with over 400 students in 20 classrooms. Students enter the school through a beautiful atrium connecting the old and new sections of the school. The original Lincoln School, built in 1896, was opened as a high school. The newer wing incorporates many architectural features of the old school, and a clock tower graces the southeast corner of the building. Our teaching is designed to take advantage of the natural curiosity of elementary children. Grade level and special education teachers collaborate to meet the needs of our diverse learners. Art, music, physical education, digital literacy and library/media complete the education of the whole child. Students are encouraged to support one another by reaching out in friendship and respect.
