Position Title
Professor of Practice – Computer Information Systems, J. Mack Robinson College of Business, Atlanta
Position Description
As part of Georgia State University’s strategic initiative to lead in artificial intelligence (AI) and financial technology (FinTech) – especially as applied to financial services – the Department of Computer Information Systems seeks a non‑tenure track Professor of Practice. The role will add depth and breadth in this interdisciplinary area within the Robinson College of Business.
Responsibilities
Contribute to research projects in AI and financial technologies.
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in AI applications and financial technology innovations.
Develop innovative, practice‑anchored curriculum featuring internships, apprenticeships, and capstone projects.
Engage with industry partners to provide real‑world learning opportunities.
Collaborate with faculty to advance the department’s research and educational missions.
Required Experience
At least 25 years of industry experience in information technology, financial technology, or related areas.
Experience developing practice‑anchored learning opportunities such as internships, apprenticeships, and capstone projects.
Senior executive experience leading strategic initiatives with varied stakeholders.
Required Education
Earned doctoral degree in a relevant field with an emphasis on bridging research and practice from an accredited university.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in artificial intelligence.
Experience in financial technology.
Pre‑Employment Requirements
Criminal background check.
Work Hours
May require non‑standard hours, including day, evening, online, hybrid, and weekends.
Salary
USD 150,000 per year.
