Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgery - Night Shift

Step into a dynamic environment as a Registered Nurse on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit in a high-acuity academic medical center with Level 1 Trauma designation. This role provides the opportunity to care for a diverse patient population within a 20-bed Transitional Care setting, collaborating closely with experienced clinical teams and utilizing advanced resources and technologies.

Night shifts, 1830-0700
Every other weekend rotation
Holiday coverage: 50% of holidays within the contract
Active RN license and BLS/ACLS certifications
Minimum of 2 years recent MedSurg experience (required)-no first-time travelers
Demonstrated skills in tracheostomy and chest tube management, IV starts, central line blood draws, wound care, dressing changes, and use of wound vacs and drains
Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation (strip competency required during shift)
Cardizem and Amiodarone (preferred, training available if needed)
Provide care for general MedSurg and transitional patients with diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, GI/respiratory disorders, wound care, and infections
Manage a patient load typically 1:5 alongside supportive staff including CNAs, charge nurse, 24/7 phlebotomy and respiratory therapy, and resident/hospitalist coverage
Utilize EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and bedside telemetry monitoring
Float to similar units as needed within scope of practice
Engage in facility and unit orientation including NEO and two on-unit shifts
Professional practice in a collaborative, academic environment
